Not what The Doctor Ordered

I’m a big Sci-fi fan. I’ve loved all sorts of shows from the original Star Trek through Stargate Universe and all point in between. There is one show that no matter how hard I have tried to like it, it just doesn’t grab me the way other shows do. That is the long running BBC show Doctor Who.

I can’t explain what it is about the show that turns me off. I’ve been trying to get through the 2009 Chistmas special and I’ll watch the conclusion when it comes out around New Year’s day but this is only because of a major happening in the show. The death of The Doctor himself. Maybe it’s the acting? The writing? I don’t know. Maybe some of you Dr. Who fans can help me with this and tell me what I am missing.

Fringe Renewed for second season

One of my favorite new shows of the year, Fringe, got it’s official notice that it will be renewed for next season.

The show is created by JJ Abrams (he of Lost and the new Star Trek movie) and it has what seems to be an arc for the show’s duration. Ever since Babylon 5, I have been a sucker for shows that have an arc to them. I just love knowing that the writers have a beginning, middle and end in mind for their show.

If you already like Fringe and are looking for a podcast to listen to about the show, I’d suggest Fringecasting with Wyane and Dan.
