This is pretty cool news, the head of the Statue of Liberty is now open again for visitors to climb up hundreds of stairs and view out of her crown.

(8:05am UPDATE: Not only is the head open but the ARM is open too which is the real news here. IIRC the head was always open. Reading comprehension fail this morning. (

Even though I am not a native New Yorker, I still have not gotten around to visiting the statue (although I do get to see it when I am taking one of my bike rides). Thijs is something that may just spur me to go and see it. The view from up there must be amazing,
